Here’s where you’ll need to do some planning. For the most part, the wedding will be BYOB (Bring Your Own Bed). We have plenty of room for everyone to camp. And the camping is quite dope. Lots of info about camping at Lake Alpine Lodge. Don’t worry about reserving a site, we’ll take care of that.
If you have a trailer we’ll find a spot for it. It will be dry camping (no hookups).
See below for more information about the drive up to Lake Alpine.
Tons of room for tent camping. Plenty of sites that are secluded as well as near the water. If you would like to tent camp but will lack the gear we can probably wrestle up a tent for you.
Lake Alpine Lodge has coin operated showers, as well as a General Store with anything needed for camping. Bathrooms are located in campgrounds.
For those who do not wish to camp, there are more options.
Bear Valley is a short two miles down the road. Bear Valley Lodge has rooms available. They have not yet posted their summer rates.
There are many houses and condos available for rental in the area. Bear Valley Vacation Rentals, as well as the old standard love it or hate it Airbnb has units available in the area.
The cabins at Lake Alpine Lodge are needed for immediate family.
The nearest Aiports are Sacramento and Reno. There is no major difference in drive time from either, a little under 2.5 hours. The drive from Sacramento is easier highways to drive, the drive from Reno is along a very narrow mountain highway.
The approach from Reno is along Highway 4. It is a very beautiful drive, but what makes it beautiful also makes it potentially dangerous. It is paved and well maintained, but a very steep, narrow, winding mountain road. Vehicles over 25 feet are not recommended, and you should be comfortable and familiar with your trailer to take this road. The alternate route from Nevada is to take Carson Pass (highway 89 to Highway 49) to Angels Camp and take eastbound Highway 4. This drive is much easier but will add about an hour.
